Traditional Music – Enjoyment And Delight
Traditional music represents the art and culture of the specific geographical location. From primitive ages, people across the world have their own traditional songs and dances according to their customs and virtues. In other words, this music is referred as folk music. Not so many advanced instruments are used in these songs but only some handmade instruments such as trumpets, drums, tabla etc. Hence, basically this music is known as vocal music as it has meaningful messages and lyrics.

The verses of the lyrics symbolize any epic story related to the particular culture. They may be like story narrator or just emotional songs. Most of them are sung without the application of any instrument but sometimes any traditional instrument may be played for some special purpose. Generally these verses belong to the specific episode of particular epic. Also these traditional songs may be in the memory of traditional heroes or battles.
Some songs are devotional and may have the taste of mystery and supernatural powers such as hymns. In western culture, traditional Christmas and Gregorian songs are of religious flavor. Also some traditional songs are sung while working in groups such as farming and wedding ceremonies. Labors normally sing these songs to encourage their efforts with rhythmic tones.
Hence, traditional music stands for cherish and enjoy of local folks. In ancient times, when there were not so many mediums of entertainment, these songs were the only medium of entertainment for the people. This form of music has a very strong appeal and deeper influence.
